It CAME!!! the mission call finally arrived! ( 2 days ) late but I cant complain! That morning I went to the post office and picked it up! after picking it up I was overwhelmed with excitement and nerves. I thought to myself in this envelope is where I will be assigned to for 18 MONTHS!!! I dropped off my call to my mom and headed to work. It was the LONGEST work day of my life, all I could think about was where I would go if I had to learn a language? it is going to be cold? is it going to be Hot?? finally I left work and headed to Kelsey's house she had also received her mission call. she was assigned to serve in the NEW YORK, NEW YORK SOUTH MISSION!! SPEAKING SPANISH!!! I was so happy for her! New York City is my Absolute FAVORITE city in the world. Seeing Kelsey open her call it made it harder to wait to open mine! After waiting all day! Everyone started showing up and I was actually really surprised how many people came. It was nice to see how many people really support me! It was finally time. the moment I had been waiting for MONTHS!! 7 months to be Exact. 7 months of disappointments, trails, courage, love, support and the list could go on for days! All the hard work I had done finally payed off. the room became quite and I started to open this letter I was shaking like crazy! I finally pulled out that one sheet of paper that would tell me the answer to 1 question I had been asking for so long. Where would I go to Serve the Lord?? I started reading and this is what it said.
Dear Sister Crandall,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You are assigned to labor in the TEXAS HOUSTON MISSION. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months.
You should report to the Prove Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. You will prepare to preach the Gospel in the Spanish Language.
HOLY CRAP I'M GOING TO HOUSTON TEXAS!!!!
I am so excited! I love Texas, and I have always wanted to learn Spanish. Now the shopping and studying begin! I'm so grateful for everyone who has supported me!
Finally Hunter, Kelsey and I all have our calls Texas, New York and Ghana! Its going to be fun when we are all home and can share stories!
